CHILDREN'S DRAWINGS

About the Project

During the lockdowns of the past year I had a lot of time to think. I thought of many things, including my childhood, my parents' divorce and the future family I want to have. These thoughts evoked two major questions that led to this series: how would I draw my home if I were a child today, and how would my children draw their home in the future, made up not of a mom and a dad, but of two fathers? To answer the questions, I examined many of my childhood drawings and tried to emulate their style. Then, I spread white papers on the floor of my room, sprinkled markers and pencils, and began to fiddle spontaneously. Thus were born Divorce - Mommy  and Divorce - Daddy, as well as the other drawings depicting a home where both parents are men - pink and happy men.
